Tania Myren

I believe in a theatre that transforms. As a culture we crave and are in desperate need of a return to the primal circle- the hearth place where stories are shared. Shakespeare strikes a universal chord in people of all ages, ethnicities, and economic backgrounds. He is the most produced playwright in the world. He writes about us- all the things that make us human; our mingled capacity for genius and horror, for laughter and tears. Nothing communicates the experience of Shakespeares elemental humanity like live theatre where word and action vibrate between actor and audience.
I am committed to a fresh approach to Shakespeare that is uniquely American. A Shakespeare stripped for action; focusing on lean story-telling; the magic of the moment, and dynamic movement.
